This Weekend

My first bit of news is, I got the job I drove many miles for!! I am going to train to be the new General Manger for the Super 8. I know same as my dad. I have always liked working as a desk clerk. I will just have the opportunity to advance and make more money this time. Lucky for me the owners like me as I have worked for them before.

Ok now, here are some pics from this weekend of everyone hanging out. Today, my sister Tricia took all the kids except Xander to the big sandhill here in Moab and then out to the old City Park to watch the ducks.

Traveling Today

Today it is raining out, non stop. I am going to be traveling again for the next 5 or so days. Today, I will go and see my hubby who is 3 hours away working. The kids and I will stay there for 2 days and then drive to Moab which is another 3 hours away. I will then drive to Grand Junction, another 2 hours. I have a meeting with my old boss. We are going to be talking about me becoming the general manager at one of there hotels. After I am done with that I am driving back to Moab to hang out with my family for a couple of days. If the weather is good I am hoping to take the kids to do something outdoors for Memorial Weekend. I really want to take them fishing on the mountain but, since I am by myself these days it is kind of difficult to do things with 3 kids. It seems like I have less patience since my hubby has been working out of town. I have a huge amount of respect for single mothers now. Anyway, I will try and take some good pics and start getting some pics on here.

Back home for a minute!!

So I drove over to Moab on Friday so I could drive to Grand Junction on Saturday to talk to my old boss and see about a job. I was hoping to go back to work at the Super 8 as a desk clerk again. I really like working at the hotel. I walked in and my boss was vey happy to see me. Anyway, we talked for a bit and she said she would be happy to have me working there again. She told me to call the owner casue she has the final say in hiring so I did and it turns out they need a General Manager for there other hotel. The owner said she actually thought of me a while back when they were in need of a manager. So, I am going back over to Grand Junction on Friday to meet with the owners and talk about what would be required of me. I am actually going to drive to Vernal Wednesday afternoon and stay there Wednesday night and Thursday night and then get up Friday and drive to Grand Junction to meet with the owners and then I will drive to Moab again for the weekend to hang out with my family. I haven't been home that much and I have been driving alot.Oh well, after the end of this month I will be done for a while. I can't wait to get moved!!

Happy Mother's Day

God's Masterpiece Is Mother

God took the fragrance of a flowerThe majesty of a tree...
The gentleness of morning dew...
The calm of a quiet sea...
The beauty of the twilight hour...
The soul of a starry night...
The laughter of a rippling brook...
The grace of a bird in flight...
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other,
And when his masterpiece was through
He called it simply - Mother.

Again!!

I am going to attempt this again. I know it has been awhile since I have tried it but, with me not working and being a stay at home mom for the time being, I seem to have a little bit of time on my hands.

Anyway, as you know I am currently living in Northern Utah. But at the end of this month we are moving back to Grand Junction, CO. This is going to be our last move for the next 15 years. Atleast that is what I keep saying to myself. We have moved alot, I don't know if we haven't found the right place or we have and I am just restless and have to feel like I am not missing anything living somewhere else. I am hoping it is the latter and Grand Junction is the best fit for us. Why 15 years?? Because our youngest will be near graduating or already graduated. I have told myself and my husband that I am not going to move my kids again while they are going to school. Our daughter makes friends very easily and is very outgoing. Moving has not been an issue for her but our oldest is more laid back and quiet like I am. Once he makes friends he keeps them and sticks with them. He started Kindergarten out in Moab and made friends there and then we moved to Grand Junction when he was in the middle of his 1st grade year. When we came back to Moab for his 6th and 7th grades. He still has those same few friends he made back in Kindergarten and it was like we had never left. That is how I am. I have had the same friends forever.

So, I am hoping to keep up with this. We will see how it goes!!

Hello!

Hello! After reading and seeing my cousins blog, I dedcided it would be a good idea to do one as a way to keep in touch with family and friends who are not able to be around as much as we would like. I will try and post as often as I can but, as we all know life is busy. So, here goes:

Our oldest son Brendan is 11 years old and started middle school this year. He seems to like it and is doing well according to the e-mails I have received from his teachers. I decided at the beginning of the school year to send each of his teachers an e-mail letting them know who I was and if there was anyhing I could do to help out to let me know. I also wanted them to let me know if Brendan was having any trouble with anything or if there was anything I needed to be aware of. I think I did this because I started thinking about my middle school years and wanted to just be safe. I can't believe I have an 11 year old, where has the time gone??

Anyway, our middle child is Madison. She is 4 years old and started pre-school this year. She loves it! Her dad started teasing her during the summer about her getting kicked out of school because she was so strong willed and things were her way or the highway. The other day, she looked at me and said "see, dad was just teasing about me getting kicked out of school" It was all I could not to laugh cause she was very serious when she said it.

Finally, there is Riley. He is a year old. I call him the oddball cause our other 2 kids have blonde hair, green eyes, and are tall and skinny. Riley is nothing like that. He has brown hair, the most beautiful big blue eyes, and he is short and chubby. He is also one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. The only time he yells is when it is time for bed and when he is hungry. He will sit at my feet while I am in the kitchen cooking and yell until I give him a bite of whatever it is I am making, and that goes on the whole time I am cooking.

Brandon started his company last March and that pretty much has consumed our lives for the last year or so. He is a framing sub-contractor for mostly residential custom homes. Although right now he is in Aspen doing the remodel on the library. So, he does commercial stuff every once in a while.

As for me, I started a job a couple of months ago so I could have some adult time. I am working as a desk clerk at the Super 8. I also do the books and all the office stuff for our company, and I have recently taken on another companies bookwork.

And that is what is going on with us right now. Like I said I will try and post often.
